McFlurry® Mini Moment of the Month {THREE}

No I’m not chatting about Mini McFlurry’s®, although I kind of feel they would take off! I am going to try the promotional Limited Edition McFlurry® from Maccy-to-the-D’s (McDonalds®…) every month and give a mini review about it! Prepare to be emersed in Registered Trade Mark symbols!2012-12-02 17.40.26

The delicious McFlurry® creation from Maccy’s this month is the very festive, Quality Street- Fudge! Open-mouthed smile How AMAZING does that sound?! Personally, one a cold Winter evening, around Christmas time, being sat in front of the TV, fire on, in my pyjamas, with a big tin of choccys by my side. And this is why Winter is most definitely my “fat” season.

So when I knew that the new icy treat had gone on sale, I had to have it!

Whilst home in Rugby me and my parents treated ourselves to the very much guilty-pleasure of a McDonald’s dinner, complete with a very cheap and reasonable pudding!

The McFlurry® itself consists of the traditional soft, creamy, whippy ice cream, with a rich chocolate sauce, and small nuggets of fudge sprinkled on and swirled within. My first impression was that the chocolate sauce was very smooth and tangy, reminding me of sticky chocolate fudge sauce. The fudge pieces were chewy, but had unfortunately done a little hard in the cold ice cream. But generally speaking, I thought this McFlurry® was very tasty! I would happily have this again! After all, anything must be better than the KitKat® variety!

McFlurry® Mini Moment of the Month {TWO}

The new promotional McFlurry® at Maccy’s this time is Nestle KitKat®! For those that do not know a normal KitKat® is 2 wafer fingers covered in milk chocolate. A KitKat-McFlurry® consists of nuggets of the wafer-chocolateyness covered in milk chocolate scattered within the icecream and swirled with Nestle chocolate sauce.

I cannot say I did a screech of joy when I heard that this was the promotional McFlurry®… Mainly because I am not a massive KitKat® fan really. Don’t me wrong, I am often partial to a KitKatChunky- Peanut Butter® every now and again! But the thought of bits of boring wafer floating wrong in cold ice cream did not fill me with anticipation and longing.

And… To be honest… I was about right. Chocolate goes hard in ice cream!!! And this was no exception!! And when that happens I 2012-10-27 15.48.37instantly lose interest. If I have to work my nashers to munch on cold chocolate I am somewhat less than amused. And to be fair, the chocolate sauce was not much to write home about either. Maybe this could have been helped if it looked a bit more appetising.. who knows. For £1.39 what do you expect, I suppose…

Needless to say I will not be purchasing this cheap-sweet-treat again! Give me a Cadbury’s Crunchie® McFlurry® anyday!!

McFlurry® Mini Moment of the Month

No I’m not chatting about Mini McFlurry’s®, although I kind of feel they would take off! I am going to try the promotional Limited Edition McFlurry® from Maccy-to-the-D’s (McDonalds®…) every month and give a mini review about it!

The promotional McFlurry® of the moment is Flake with Chocolate/Raspberry Sauce. I chose the Chocolate Sauce variety, as raspberry and milk chocolate would not be the first combination I would ordinarily choose.

I actually really liked it! Sometimes if there are solid chocolate pieces with the ice cream they can get really hard, but the flake pieces didn’t! Probably due to their texture. And the chocolate sauce had a really nice flavour to it, which 2012-09-23 17.28.21dark but not bitter, but definitely not too sweet.

As per, Maccy’s ice cream was lovely and I love the Mr Whippy-esque softness and creaminess of it. So all in all, definitely give the promotional Flake McFlurry® a go, because for £1.39 you won’t be disappointed!

Now this random employee is happy in her job!
